Encompass is a dynamic family-run company in Cheshire, UK. We have sourced a range of approved COVID-19 lateral flow antigen rapid test kits to help combat the coronavirus pandemic, alongside the other essential PPE supplies for the UK workforce that we have been selling since 1985.
We have researched several manufacturers of LFD tests, to bring you a range of price points and different styles of test for different industries and applications alongside the tests available from the government.
The full Encompass product range that you can buy online is shown on our eCommerce website (where you can also buy a range of related PPE).
Our blog contains a resource of helpful information to assist UK buyers in their purchasing decisions and represents a complete buyer guide for lateral flow test kits.
These tests are really good! We test a couple hundred people a week. Can't fault them - they're easy to use and all staff members are willing to do them. Had 2 cases recently, one person displayed symptoms and the other was asymptomatic - but these tests prevented them from coming into the business and spreading the virus further! They were confirmed positive with PCR tests following using your test kits.

Can you self-test using a lateral flow test kit?
With the Hughes test kits, the official answer is currently no. The pack clearly states “For professional use only”.
However, the global test kit manufacturer Acon also adds: “all testing should be under the supervision of a healthcare professional”. How that supervision should be carried out is a grey area. We know, for example, in schools non-health professional staff receive online training and are then allowed to carry out the tests. We also know of groups that test multiple people within a single zoom meeting.”
We also note that the free government test kits, which are even harder to self-administer than the Hughes tests due to the double nose AND throat swab requirement, clearly say on the box ‘Covid-19 Self-test (rapid antigen test)’. Also see our blog where we compare Government self tests with Hughes test kits.
